Pasadena Chalk Festival

Yesterday I fought my way to the Pasadena Chalk Festival. Seriously, it took me almost an hour to turn off of Colorado Blvd. (which was completely closed), get on the detour, enter the parking deck, drive to the roof, wait for someone to leave, park, walk the 4 blocks to the Paseo area where the festival was going down. That should have taken 15 minutes tops. Nightmare. Anyway, I obviously made it! I really like going to this festival because it is so great for photography. Colors, texture, interesting looking people. There's also a really fun antique mall there and I can spend ages looking around at the crazy stuff they sell. I'll show you the little treasure I bought once I get a chance to take a good picture of it. Apparently this festival made it into the Guinness Book of World Records last year for the largest display of chalk art. Here are some of my favorite shots from yesterday.

Have a graceful weekend!

Another weekend, my friends. Have a graceful one...

Although it's not exactly a weekend for me as I'll be working and going to a meeting. I need to get my booty in gear and start training for my next distance. My run last Sunday was a lovely success. I set a PR, came in 7th in my age group, and my team raised over $28,000 for Run For Congo Women!
Here's an action shot from the run website.

Kicking it off with CLAYMATION!

The weekend is here! I can't even tell you how excited I am. I've been working 6-7 days a week lately and it has been a trip to Crazytown. After all of my LONG work weeks I have 3 glorious days off (since I worked through this past holiday weekend)! My first official run in 8 years is going down at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning in Santa Monica. I'm still taking donations for the run. So if you're interested in contributing a buck or two, head over to my page! I'm determined to have some fun this weekend so let's kick things off with this awesome claymation short that I'm loving. If you follow the blog, you probably know about my love for stop motion photography and claymation. I'm always blown away by the time and care these artists give to their very tedious but rewarding work. Opera, claymation, and desserts...um, yes.

Have a mesmerizing weekend!

Hello! Just want to say that I've been a terrible blogger this past week! However, I haven't just been sitting on my tush eating macaroons. I promise. This week has been nutso crazy times with some major life transitioning which has been demanding all of my attention. But I'm in the swing of most things now so I am back and.... it's that time again! After the craziness of my week I'm going to sleep, eat, and enjoy the craft fair (hopefully it isn't too painfully hot)! Does anyone else have fun plans for the weekend??

Have a calming weekend...

Ok, yeah, so it's almost 3AM here and I'm still awake. I'm feeling zonked but sleep just doesn't really happen easily for a person like me. Without total silence, intense focus, and perfect body positioning I will NOT fall asleep unless I've been drugged. I progressed from night owl to insomniac a loooong time ago, my friends. It's annoying. Anyway, I hope everyone gets some rest this weekend. Take a leaf out of this little pup's book and reward yourself with some delicious sleep! I'm gearing up for the nightly Sleep Challenge Fest right about now. Wish me luck!
PS: I've also tried EVERY trick in the book for falling asleep with the exception of Rx drugs (a no-no). I'm getting ready to start training again for long distance running so maybe I can run myself into a puddle of sleep.
